Manatee Palms Youth Services Hospital

Manatee Palms Youth Services (MPYS) is a Level IV Intensive Residential Treatment Facility (IRTF). Manatee Palms Youth Services is also a Statewide Inpatient Psychiatric Program (SIPP) Provider.   MPYS has short and long term care (average length of stay is 3 to 12 months). We also offer individualized treatment planning in a structured and secure setting.   We offer specialized programming for male and females ages 5-17. We have a co-ed, children’s program unit, ages 5-12 with specialized treatment and incentive plans with a trauma-informed care approach. We have a general psychiatric boy’s unit, ages 13-17 with a trauma-informed care approach. We also have a specialized unit for girls, ages 13-17 specializing in Trauma Informed Care.   Manatee Palms uses Dialectical Behavioral Therapy as our evidenced based treatment of choice with all of our populations.

Manatee Palms treats a variety of psychiatric and behavioral issues including, but not limited to most diagnoses, including co-occurring in the DSM-IVR that may be inhibiting a child or adolescent in their home and school environments. Patients are offered a weekly 1:1 contact with their Psychiatrist. MPYS also provides individual and family therapy weekly. Group and Expressive Therapies are provided daily.   As needed, Individual Behavioral Analysis is offered through our Board Certified Behavior Analyst. If the child has co-occurring issues that include substance abuse, then that patient would be referred to our “7 Challenges Program” for treatment.

Our behavioral programming and level system offer the opportunity to access upper-level day rooms including privileges such as XBOX 360 ™ and MP3 players as levels are achieved throughout treatment. Lodging includes comfortable living spaces and infrared bathroom fixtures as well as extensive outdoor activity areas, all enclosed with privacy-screened fencing. This includes a large playground, a full-sized sports field, basketball courts, and a swimming pool, with outdoor activities daily as weather permits.
